Easter 2010

Peyton's first Easter was full of fun presents and yummy food.  We spent Saturday afternoon with Josh's family at Tanya & Scott's.  The Easter Bunny brought Peyton a new walking toy that she is now addicted to.  She runs around the house with it but is still struggling with the steering aspect.  She runs into furniture or walls and then gets mad when she can't keep going.  We spent Sunday afternoon with my family at my Grandma's house.  Peyton enjoyed sharing her toys with Brady and watching Brady run around the house.  I'm pretty sure that Peyton is learning a lot from her cousin... she wants to follow him around and do everything he does.  He is our inspiration! :)  Now, if he could convince her to actually drink out of the sippy cup instead of just letting it dribble down her chin...

Fun at the Park

Josh, Peyton, and I all had doctor appointments on the same day... so we decided to have a picnic lunch with Lisa & Brady in between appointments!

Peyton enjoyed the green grass and the bucket swings.  Brady enjoyed the slides. 

Sandwich

After attending Luke's 2nd birthday party, I was obsessed with getting Peyton to try new foods.  At the party she tried her first "sandwich"... cream cheese & jelly on bread cut into the shape of a dog bone... too cute!  I loved the idea of cutting the sandwich into a fun shape and it just so happened that I had a star cookie cutter that I thought would work perfectly.  Of course I didn't have any reason to use the cookie cutter... a knife would have been just as useful, but a star is way more fun to eat!

Peyton did a great job of feeding herself (and Duke).  Duke was very patient and tried really hard not to take the sandwich from Peyton when she was teasing him.  Peyton rewarded Duke's good behavior with a bit of her sandwich (ok, with most of her sandwich!).

Props to Christine for being a fabulous mom and inspiring me. :)

Bath Time

Peyton loves bathtime... there is no other way to describe it.  She loves splashing in the water and playing with her toys.  She does not, however, appreciate having her hair washed.  The other day I thought it would be fun to put bubbles in the tub with her... she was very impressed!  Then came the mohawk!

Here are a few cute pictures of Peyton when we were at my sister's house.  Brady was kind enough to share his toys with Peyton- although I'm pretty sure he was very happy when she finally went home!!

A TOOTH!

A tooth has officially arrived!  

Peyton's 1st tooth arrived on March 8th.  I picked her up from daycare and she kept sticking out her tongue.  I figured she'd picked something up off the floor and was chewing on it so, as any mother would do, I stuck my finger in her mouth and felt my way around trying to determine what was in the mouth... I was surprised to feel something sharp... yes... a tooth!  Yeah Peyton!

Peyton was (is) very proud of her tooth and to celebrate she brought her teachers a toothbrush and toothpaste on Tuesday.  All of her teachers were very impressed with Peyton's gift-giving skills and the fact that she finally got a tooth.... they too weren't sure if she'd ever get teeth!

Peyton's 9 Month Well Visit

Peyton's 9 month check-up was postponed due to her RSV.  So today (9 months, 2 weeks, & 4 days) we headed to the pediatrician's office for her 9 month visit.  She received her Hep-B shot and had a hemoglobin test.
Her stats are as follows:
Weight: 15 pounds, 4.5 ounces (3rd percentile)
Length: 26.75 inches (20th percentile)
Head Circumference: 17.25 inches
Temp: 97.7

She was given the "go-ahead" for all sorts of new foods- yogurt, meat, and anything high in calories & fat!  Yum!    She still has no teeth so we are a bit limited at times, but overall she is just perfect!
