Peyton is officially 7 weeks old today and grows each day! She is constantly hungry and does well with her feedings for the most part. We are working on going 2 hours between feedings which is not Peyton's favorite part of the day, but she is adjusting well. Her nights are getting better as well and she is not waking as often to nurse (knock on wood). Last night she slept from 10pm until 4:30am... and I had to wake her up at 4:30! We then went back to bed until 8:30 or so! Although I am getting more sleep nowadays I am still exhausted. I don't think I'll ever catch up!
Peyton has officially started smiling! I haven't been able to capture it with the camera (too slow), but it is super cute. She smiles the most in the morning which helps start my day off right. I will post pictures as soon as I can capture a cute one!
The countdown has begun for my summer vacation to end. Peyton will begin daycare on July 21st and I am not looking forward to dropping her off. I know she will be well taken care of and she will be happy, but I'm really enjoying my time with her at home.
Josh, Peyton, and I leave for Wisconsin on Saturday. We are headed to Oshkosh to celebrate my Grandpa's 80th birthday! This will be Peyton's first trip on an airplane- I just hope she is good! We are looking forward to having Peyton meet many of my aunts, uncles, and cousins!
My mom came down today to make Josh and I dinner- pasties and corn-on-the-cob! It was so tasty and she even made us enough for left overs! Peyton enjoys her time with Grandma as well and it is a much needed break for me. I even got to lay in the pool for 20 minutes today! Oh the life I lead!
Enjoy the pictures!

6 Weeks Old!
I know that I start every blog with the same thing... "I can't believe Peyton is ___ weeks old"... but I really can't! How is it possible for me to have a six week old baby?? I feel like I just graduated from high school... but my 10 year reunion is in just a few months, and in July I will start my 7th year of teaching. Man, Peyton makes me feel old! haha
To celebrate Peyton being six weeks old, we had Tamara, JJ, and Mayah over, along with their friend Shawn. We had yummy ribs, potatoes, broccoli, and a really yummy cookies & cream dessert!

Peyton's Trip to Vegas
This past weekend we went on a road trip to Las Vegas for a wedding! Since I refused to put Peyton in a taxi in Vegas we drove... about a 5 1/2 hour trip. Of course the trip was made a bit longer due to stops for nursing and diaper changes, but overall the trip was a success!
After the 7 1/2 hour drive Peyton took a nap at the resort we stayed at....
Cameron & Bobbi were married on June 20th- here we are after the wedding waiting to go to the reception. We were lucky enough to be able to ride in the limo with Cameron & Bobbi! Peyton enjoyed her first limo ride and looks forward to many more. Here is a picture of Cameron, Bobbi, and their daughter Emma.
The happy couple- the reception was at Planet Hollywood at the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace... so first we stopped to take some pictures!
Josh was Cameron's Best Man.
We had to have our picture taken also!
Josh and Peyton dancing at the reception during the "Father's Day" dance. Too cute!
And finally it was time to go home....

Peyton's One Month Check Up
Can you believe Peyton is already a month old?
We went to the doctor's office for a check up and a shot...
Peyton weighs 7 pounds 1.5 ounces and is 20.25 inches long. She is in the 10th percentile for weight and 20th for length. The doctor was not really impressed with Peyton's weight gain- we have to go back on the 18th for a weight check and they will determine then if we need to supplement with formula. We have given her formula every once in a while- she nurses so much that I feel completely dry & empty at times. We try not to give it to her on a regular basis, but she is a growing girl and needs her calories! I've increased my water and caloric intake which I think has increased my milk supply, so hopefully that does the trick!
Watching Peyton get her shot was the saddest thing ever- that poor little cry and the sad sad face! Oh my!!

Peyton is FOUR Weeks Old!
Little Miss Peyton is 4 weeks old today! Time sure is going by quickly! Peyton has a doctor's appointment on Friday, so I am excited to get an update on her weight and length! She is still wearing newborn clothes, but the ones with feet are getting a tiny bit tight and it is tough for Peyton if fully stretch out her legs.
We are currently working on getting into a routine- right now bedtime is anywhere between 8:30 and 10:00pm. She will wake up somewhere between 1 and 3am to nurse, then again around 5am & 8am. Sometimes I can get her to go back to bed until 10:30 or 11:00am which is really nice- but sometimes we stay awake after our morning feedings. Hopefully soon we can cut out one of the middle of the night feedings... hopefully.
Peyton is convinced that she is always hungry and will tell anyone who will listen all about it. During the day she will nurse every hour if I let her (and sometimes I do... is that bad??)... she doesn't take very many naps during the day and if she does they are very quick... most of my days are spent nursing or holding her.... as you can imagine I don't accomplish much around the house... oh well!
We had the chance to visit with lots of family members this week which Peyton thoroughly enjoyed- she loves being held and telling everyone how hungry she is! :)
Check back on Friday for an update after her appointment!

Guitar Hero with Daddy
The Adventures of a Three Week Old
Peyton is three weeks old today- I can't believe I've already been off from work for three entire weeks. It really feels like just yesterday I was pregnant...
Peyton has grown so much already- she is gaining weight and getting bigger each day. She is still wearing her newborn clothes- her 0-3 clothes are still way too big for her. I never thought I'd have a baby that wore newborn clothes for this long! We like to tell people that Peyton is petite. :)
I took Peyton to school today as I had some paperwork I had to do before the end of the year, plus I wanted to see my AVID class. Everyone loved her of course. Many people held her (after washing their hands, of course) and she slept for the most part. Tamara has the magic touch and can make Peyton stop crying in an instant. I am going to have to hire her for the summer- good thing she is only a mile away!!
We also went to visit the Banyar's while we were out and about. Joe had met Peyton last week, but Dalene hadn't yet- Peyton fell asleep on Dalene's shoulder within 5 minutes of being at their house- what a nice break for me to have a sleeping baby!! She looks completely different when someone else is holding her and she is quiet!!
As if we hadn't had enough fun for the day, we met an old high school friend for dinner! Nate and Josh were good friends in high school and college so it was great for them to catch up and tell their life stories. Peyton loved being held by Nate- he too had the magic touch. (I'm thinking that anyone who isn't me has the magic touch...)
Josh, Peyton, & Nate
We are thinking about going to visit my Grandma later this week... but it just depends on how crabby we are. We have been having a little colic issue the past few days, so it is hard to tell if we are going to have a good day or a cranky day.... and I really struggle with the cranky days- I feel so bad that I can't comfort her.
Nate and Josh are playing guitar hero right now and Peyton is fast asleep in her swing. I can't believe she is actually in her swing and sleeping... it's a miracle.
