Last weekend I made some hummingbird food for our feeder- it had been empty for quite a while.... I had seen a hummingbird in our neighbor's backyard, so I thought I would try to attract them to our yard.
We have at least 4 birds that were enjoying our feeder this morning. Josh was outside putting in new trees (yeah!!!) and the birds were coming right up to the feeder, even with the dogs and I sitting on the patio... so of course I had to go get the camera.

Baby's Room
Baby's room is coming along nicely- I finally decided to paint. I kept going back and forth about whether or not I wanted to paint and finally decided to just do it. Josh kept insisting that he would not be touching a paint brush, but he was a trooper and helped out so much- especially on the high parts. I didn't mind getting on the ladder, but it hurt my feet so bad that I didn't like doing it.
We (as in Josh) will be putting up a chair rail between the green and pink paint eventually.
Duke waits patiently for his baby sister. (Dutchess is waiting too, but she is not patient and can't sit still next to Duke for a picture. She is a bit too wild.)
Baby's cute musical mobile.
Another picture of crib, mobile, and wall color.

31 Weeks
The count down has begun.... I'm finally at the end of this pregnancy... but I still have a long time to go... 8 1/2 weeks to my due date...
Josh also wanted to have his picture taken so everyone can see how much weight he has been losing. I'm annoyed at this fact because soon I will weigh the same, if not more, than him and that is just wrong. He hasn't really changed his diet but he has started to work out more. He is so proud of himself (and so am I when I'm not feeling fat....). Hopefully his energy and dedication can transfer to me once this baby is born. I will have about 10 weeks before going back to school once she is born and my goal is to be back in most of my pre-pregnancy school clothes. I have no desire to buy new clothes in a larger size...
I asked Josh to take some belly pictures... this is what he took.
He thinks he is just soooo funny!

Lori's Spring Break Checklist
I like to pretend that I accomplish a lot during my breaks from school... especially since I have 2 weeks off.... Here is my list from this spring break (which ends today... that is very sad). Notice the bolded activities are the ones I actually accomplished... I think there is a problem with my accomplishments....
- Get lots of extra sleep
- Finish baby's room
- Clean the bathrooms (like scrub them clean...)
- Get sewing machine, make curtains
- Go to the zoo
- Go to a spring training game
- Walk the dogs most week nights
- Get some laundry done
- Clean the kitchen
- Hang out with my sister
- Hang out with my mom
- Hang out with my nephew
- Meet up with friends for lunch
- Read some books on my "to read" list
- Read some birthing/breastfeeding books
- Try not to drive to town every day.
I think I failed at this spring break thing... I did get to hang out with my nephew, which was of course the highlight of my week- especially when he started talking to me! And I also got to meet up with a few friends for lunch dates which was great! I even went shopping in the ghetto (aka Arizona Mills) with my mom and found some maternity skirts that I will be living in for the next 8 weeks! I did accomplish SOME stuff- but not a whole lot from my list!!

First Swim of 2009
March brought about the chance for Duke to take a dip in the pool- the weather was warm enough so we let him jump right in. He doesn't care if it is 20 degrees outside or 120.... he loves swimming.
This is Josh trying to teach Duke some manners... we've tried this for several years, but it hasn't helped. Duke forgets his listening ears whenever there is a pool (or lake) near by.
My camera is not fast enough to catch Duke flying through the air when he was jumping in. One day I will capture the moment... just not this day!
Duke is sad when we tell him "no more". He will cry and whine and bark at the pool fence. Last year the neighbor looked over our fence because Duke was crying so much- he probably thought we were beating our dog.
Dutchess goes no where near the water, but she does run around the pool barking at Duke. She is wearing one of Duke's old shirts that he no longer fits into (I think he is gaining sympathy weight...).

28 Weeks & The Ultrasound!
We had an ultrasound this past Friday to check the fetal growth of our little baby. I did make the technician confirm that baby is still a girl. I had this fear that all of a sudden when she was born they would say "oh whoops, it's a boy!" and then he'd have to come home to everything pink and flowery and in a pink outfit! But there will be nothing like that occurring- baby is still a girl! phew! Baby is in the 34th percentile for growth- she is supposedly petite at the moment- just 2 pounds 10 ounces. I have asked her to stay petite until she is born... hopefully she understands. She is welcome to grow like a weed when she is outside of my body! Everything is looking good at this point- she is growing well and all of my blood work came back fine (I was worried I'd have to do the 3 hour glucose test). In addition, she has plenty of amniotic fluid and the placenta looks good as well.
My mom came down to visit on Friday (and take us to dinner... yum!) so instead of Josh taking pictures, we recruited mom to take pictures! Of course Josh is losing weight like there is no tomorrow and I am gaining it all!
Doesn't she look just so sweet and innocent?

28 Weeks, 3 Days
And may I mention that there are no dogs in either of these pictures? My dogs would be heart-broken if they knew that I decided not to post the pictures that they are in... that is just sad! Actually Dutchess was being a bit wild (shocking, I know) and so all of the pictures contained her butt, so I thought I would spare you all those photos. :)
